  • Calling all Vets!

The SA Vets is coming up later in the year and we are keen to get started. Ideally, we would like to send three teams which means we need to get an idea of who is available now. The tournament is in Oudtshoorn from the 2 to the 9 August 2014. If you are interested, please contact Elsie Fennell, our Vets Representative. You can find her details on the Committee page under the Association tab.

To all the players who have hung up their racquets, perhaps this is the time to dust them off and start playing again?

  • Tashlin selected to represent USSA Badminton in Spain!

A huge congratulations to Tashlin Hamid who has been selected to represent USSA Badminton at the World Student Badminton Championships to be held in Spain from 24-29 July 2014. This is a remarkable achievement and is a testament to Tashlin’s dedication to his game.

The future of SGBA badminton is looking good with young stars like this coming up through the ranks. The Junior structure has been intimately involved with the development of our emerging players such as Prakash and Tashlin. As the president of our association, I thank them for planting the seeds of a bright future for badminton in Southerns.
